More to Florida Deep Sea Fishing than Meets the Eye

from:

When visiting Florida, deep sea fishing is a favorite tourist attraction and should be a destination on your list of places to go. Whether you are on the Atlantic or Gulf Coastal side of Florida, deep sea fishing is an adventure that has much to offer an individual, a group of friends, or a family. You’ll especially find great prospects in the Florida Keys, where the two bodies of water practically collide with the Caribbean, meaning that species native to all three areas can be found.

Southwest Florida deep sea fishing is a great source of grouper and snapper, both of which you’ll find heavy populations of among the many ledges, wrecks, and reefs located offshore in this area of the Gulf of Mexico. Of course, you also have the opportunity to reel other species, such as redfish, marlin, and tuna. You may even get lucky and run across a few barracuda, though these are more common in the Pacific.

As you move around the coastline, you’ll certainly want to check out the ocean water near the Keys of Florida. Deep sea fishing in this area yields the greatest variety of species of almost any fishing location in the country. The wide spectrum of options is unmatched, and you’ll find that the trophies you reel in are worth telling the fish tales for years to come.

If you can’t get enough Florida deep sea fishing in these areas, make a day excursion to the Dry Tortugas off the Keys, where you’ll be 60 miles from anywhere and able to enjoy prime fishing without any interruption. This, of course, would be a guided tour with a hired charter service, which you should consider using if you are new to Florida deep sea fishing anyway. The sport can be dangerous if you are not well prepared, and it is not something you should jump into headfirst without some guidance from experienced parties. First-timers and novices of any sport should seek such assistance to assure their safety.

Florida deep sea fishing charters can provide you with all of your gear, a checklist of things for you to bring along, and teach you lot about the sport of deep sea fishing, which is like the extreme version of lake fishing – bigger catch, greater stakes, tougher sport. Using a charter for your first Florida deep sea fishing experience allows you to ask the questions you have of the experienced crew of the ship so that you can take that knowledge and move forward, getting familiar with the sport and perhaps venturing out on your own someday.
